A meeting was held at the Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control State Service under the Ministry of Economy with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the heads of the "Development of Trade Networks" Public Union and the large trade networks included in the Union.
At the event, detailed information was given on the requirements of the legislation on banning the sale of polyethylene bags with a thickness of up to 15 microns and single-use plastic utensils (mixing stick, fork, spoon, knife, plate and cups) in trade networks. It was noted that such products harm the environment and human health and are not suitable for recycling. At the meeting, the importance of presenting polyethylene bags with a thickness of 15-50 microns to consumers as a separate type of product and providing advance information about the selling price was also emphasized.
At the event, discussions and suggestions were made regarding the use and sale of polyethylene and single-use plastic products.
