Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of standardization and conformity assessment is expanding

A delegation of the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND) subordinated institution to the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy visited Turkey. During the visit, AZSTAND employees held meetings at the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), Turkish Accreditation Center (TURKAK) and Halal Accreditation (HAC) and got acquainted with Turkey's experience in the field of quality infrastructure.

The meetings focused on improving the capacity of AZSTAND, bringing it into line with international accreditation standards, expanding cooperation in the field of accreditation, as well as activating Azerbaijan's membership in the Institute of Standards and Metrology of Islamic Countries (IMEC) and other issues. In addition, the Turkish Standards Institute presented certificates to AZSTAND employees who participated in the online seminar on ISO / IEC 17065: 2012 “Conformity assessment. Requirements for certification bodies of products, processes and services" international standard.

It should be noted that in accordance with the protocol of the VIII meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Action Plan for 2022-2023 for the development of bilateral cooperation between the Turkish Standards Institute and AZSTAND was approved. According to the agreement, AZSTAND will expand its representation in international organizations, obtain international accreditation in accordance with relevant standards, develop a strategic development plan, take part in training programs, carry out certification in accordance with international standards and develop cooperation in other areas.
