Turkey presented more than 9,000 national standards to Azerbaijan

Within the context of the strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey, an agreement has been reached between the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute public legal entity (AZSTAND) subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy, and the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). The agreement says that AZSTAND will have the right to distribute official publications of more than 9,000 Turkish national standards in the country.

The application in our country of the national standard of the Turkish Standards Institute, which complies with international standards, will contribute to the implementation of measures taken in the field of protecting human life or health, the environment and property, and other important areas.

In addition, the application of standards will be used in the preparation and improvement of normative documents adopted to set norms, rules and recommendations on goods (work, services), related process (including management system) and production methods in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as minimum requirements on safety and quality of subjects of standardization, and will serve to improve a quality infrastructure.

The two government agencies will keep working more actively to reinforce bilateral cooperation in the field of standardization, conformity assessment (testing, inspection, certification, etc.), training and other areas, in order to benefit from mutual experience and facilitate trade.
