At the background of global price increases in 2021, changes are observed in the prices of several food products in our country too.

To prevent price manipulation, the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy has launched an investigation to monitor compliance with antitrust laws in the market. The State Service sent requests to local importers to provide the necessary documents and information.

Even though most of the economic entities responded to the inquiries in a timely manner, “Veyseloglu” LLC did not submit any documents and information to the State Service. In this regard, the State Service filed a lawsuit against “Veyseloglu” LLC on the grounds of violation of antitrust law. Depending on the outcome of the case, legal action will be taken against the business entity.
