New state standard AZS 921:2022 "Production, processing, branding and sale of environmentally friendly agricultural and food products. Guiding requirements" was adopted.

The draft standard was prepared based on the presentation of the Technical Committee for the standardization of ecologically clean agricultural products. The standard was approved by the "Azerbaijan Standardization Institute" AZSTAND public legal entity subordinated to the Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control State Service under the Ministry of Economy and included in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardization.

According to the requirements of the standard, the use of chemical-synthetic (artificial) substances should be minimized during the production of environmentally friendly products and attention should be paid to the protection of the health of consumers and the environment.

It should be noted that the new standard will make it possible to regulate the production and processing of food products in accordance with the requirements, increase their quality, and bring competitive ecologically clean products to the market.
