The State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy held a meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank's (ADB) procurement reform consultation mission in Azerbaijan.
Head of the State Service Mammad Abbasbayli informed about the reforms carried out in the country in the field of public procurement, systemic measures taken to ensure efficiency and transparency, noting the role of ADB in improving legislation in this area and bringing it into line with international practice. It was noted that the share of micro, small and medium-sized businesses in procurement in Azerbaijan last year was 95%, and the quotation request procedure was fully electronic.
The meeting focused on the new draft law "On Public Procurement" and increasing the efficiency of tenders.
