The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), operating under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has officially obtained the right to distribute official publications of the international standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) within the territory of Azerbaijan. This will ensure the official distribution in Azerbaijan of international standards covering electrical, electronic and related technologies.

In addition, the implementation of IEC standards is expected to contribute positively to improving the quality of locally manufactured products, services provided and related processes, promoting the adoption of innovations, and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.

It should be noted that, since 1 January 2026, AZSTAND has been represented at the IEC as an Associate Member. This status enables the institution both to benefit from the IEC standards database and to participate in technical committees working on standardization in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering, industry, information and communication technologies, robotics and nanotechnology.
