The State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy hosted a meeting with the heads of natural monopolies operating in the utilities sector. At a meeting with the participation of the Chairman of “Azerishig” OJSC Vugar Ahmadov, the Director of the “Azerigaz” Production Association Ruslan Aliyev and the Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Kocharli Hasanov, Head of the State Service Mammad Abbasbayli informed about the work done on state control over the activities of natural monopoly entities and on the goals set, and stressed the importance of cooperation with natural monopolies in this area. The meeting underlined the role of public utilities in anti-inflationary measures in the country, as well as the necessity to promptly meet the needs of business entities.

The event dealt with issues of protecting the interests of the low-income sections of the population, prompt consideration of applications from entrepreneurs to join the housing and communal services, and more reliable protection of consumer rights in the field of energy and water supply.
