The seminar provided detailed information on the principles of competition policy applicable to natural monopolies and the state control mechanisms established under the Competition Code.
A seminar titled “Prohibited Actions for Natural Monopoly Entities” was jointly organized by the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Caspian Energy Club. Representatives of more than 40 business entities operating in the retail, manufacturing, export, logistics, transportation, services, and other sectors attended the seminar.
The event covered the key principles governing the activities of natural monopoly entities, regulatory criteria established under the Competition Code, actions requiring prior approval, and procedures for reviewing relevant applications. Participants were also informed about actions prohibited for natural monopoly entities in the production and sale of goods, the principle of non-discrimination in relations with consumers, and regulatory requirements aimed at protecting consumers’ rights and interests.
The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, during which practical examples were discussed and participants were provided with detailed explanations.
