The “Open Day”, organized in connection with 15 March – World Consumer Rights Day, provided information on consumer rights and mechanisms for their protection and explained legislative requirements concerning violations of consumer rights encountered in practice.

The State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to organize awareness-raising activities aimed at increasing consumers’ awareness of their rights.

As part of these activities, an “Open Day” was organized for consumers by Regional Division No. 2 of the State Service, covering the administrative territories of Sumgayit, Khirdalan, Khizi and Siyazan, with the support of the Sumgayit City Executive Authority.

The meeting was attended by more than 30 consumers. At the beginning of the event, a video presenting the areas of activity of the State Service was shown. Participants were subsequently provided with detailed information on the existing legislative acts governing consumer protection, violations encountered in practice and ways of addressing such violations.

The role of central executive authorities and courts responsible for consumer protection in this field was also highlighted.

As part of the event, participants’ questions concerning violations of consumer rights were answered, and the procedures for submitting appeals to the State Service were explained.
