The “Open Day” provided information on consumers’ fundamental rights, the mechanisms for protecting them and the requirements of legislation in this field.
The State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to conduct awareness-raising activities aimed at raising consumers’ legal awareness.
As part of these activities, an “Open Day” for consumers was organized by Regional Division No. 6 of the Agency, based in Jalilabad and covering the Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Masalli, Yardimli, Lerik, Lankaran and Astara districts, with the support of the Jalilabad District Executive Authority.
About 40 consumers attended the event. It began with a video presentation on the Agency’s areas of activity. Participants were then given comprehensive information on consumers’ rights, including the right to information, to exchange and return goods, to submit appeals, to compensation for damage, to freedom of choice, and other consumer rights.
At the end of the event, citizens’ appeals concerning violations of consumer rights were heard. Participants were also given explanations on the requirements of relevant legislation and on the role of central executive authorities and courts in protecting consumer rights.
