The application of the new state standards will make an important contribution to improving the measurement accuracy and reliability of meters.
Five new state standards in the field of metrology have been adopted by the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardisation (AZSTAND), which operates under the Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (the Agency):
- AZS EN 1434-1:2025 — Heat Meters — Part 1: General Requirements
- AZS EN 1434-4:2025 — Heat Meters — Part 4: Pattern Approval Tests
- AZS EN 1434-5:2025 — Heat Meters — Part 5: Initial Verification Tests
- AZS EN 12480:2025 — Gas Meters — Rotary Displacement Gas Meters
- AZS EN 1359:2025 — Gas Meters — Diaphragm Gas Meters
These state standards establish requirements for the operating principles, safety, manufacture and testing of heat and gas meters.
The aim of applying state standards developed on the basis of European standards is to ensure the safety of heat and gas meters and the accuracy of measurement results.
It should be noted that the new state standards were adopted by consensus in the Technical Committee on Standardisation “Field of Metrology” (AZSTAND/TK 47) and included by AZSTAND in the State Fund of Normative Documents on Standardisation.
