During the visit, aimed at studying Türkiye’s experience in the assay and hallmarking of precious metals and in the diagnostics and certification of precious stones, inter-institutional cooperation was discussed with the senior management of the General Directorate of the Mint and Stamp Printing House of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of Türkiye.

A delegation of the Centre for Expertise of Consumer Goods LLC (CECG), which operates under the Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (the Agency), paid a working visit to Istanbul, Türkiye. The visit, made at the invitation of the General Directorate of the Mint and Stamp Printing House of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of Türkiye, aimed to study Türkiye’s experience in the assay and hallmarking of precious metals and in the diagnostics and certification of precious stones, and to become familiar with the reforms and governance mechanisms implemented in this area.

During the meeting, views were exchanged with the senior management of the General Directorate of the Mint and Stamp Printing House of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance of Türkiye on expanding inter-institutional cooperation and on prospects for future cooperation.

As part of the event, the CECG delegation visited the institution’s head office in Istanbul as well as its analysis laboratories for precious metals and precious stones. There, the delegation became familiar on site with the production of bullion and coins as well as circulating metal currency, the organisation of laboratory analyses, the technological infrastructure and the operating principles.
