The document is expected to bring cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia in the field of quality infrastructure to a new level.

A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in standardization, legal and scientific metrology, technical regulation, conformity assessment, and accreditation of conformity assessment bodies was signed between the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing of the Slovak Republic.

The memorandum aims to strengthen institutional cooperation between the parties in the field of quality infrastructure, facilitate the exchange of international experience and information, and establish priority areas for future cooperation.

The document was signed by Elnur Baghirov, Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Elchin Gasimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Under the memorandum, the parties intend to exchange information and experience in the fields of technical regulation, standardization, and metrology, as well as organize joint seminars, conferences, scientific and technical projects, and training programs aimed at enhancing the professional knowledge and skills of specialists.

The memorandum also provides for promoting the participation of accredited laboratories and laboratories undergoing accreditation in proficiency testing programs and international interlaboratory comparisons. These activities are intended to support the development of calibration and measurement capabilities in the field of metrology.

In addition, the parties will explore opportunities for the mutual recognition of testing results issued by accredited conformity assessment bodies and seek to expand cooperation within relevant international and regional organizations.
