The seminar provided information on the requirements established under the Competition Code governing the activities of natural monopoly entities, as well as the state regulatory mechanisms applicable in this area.

An educational seminar was held at the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for representatives of natural monopoly entities operating in the natural gas, electricity and heat supply, water supply, transportation—including railway, air transport, and metro services—and telecommunications sectors.

During the event, Mahammad Mammadzada, an official of the Department of State Control over Natural Monopolies at the State Agency, delivered a presentation titled “Prohibited Actions for Natural Monopoly Entities.” The presentation provided detailed information on actions requiring approval by natural monopoly entities, practices prohibited under the legislation, state control measures, procedures for the review of cases by the competition commission, and liability established for violations of competition legislation.

The seminar also addressed the practical application of competition legislation to natural monopoly entities through specific examples. The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants’ questions were addressed.
