Further Open Lessons Held to Raise Schoolchildren’s Awareness of Consumer Rights

Young consumers were informed about their rights through practical examples and provided with relevant recommendations on how to protect those rights.

In connection with 15 March – World Consumer Rights Day, open lessons organized by the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, were held at general education schools in Baku.

As part of the initiative, further sessions were organized for students of Secondary School No. 55 in Khatai District, Secondary School No. 214 in Nizami District, and Secondary School No. 205 in Binagadi District.

The open lessons were conducted to provide school-age children with basic knowledge of consumer rights. During the sessions, representatives of the State Service delivered presentations and provided students with detailed information on the rules to be followed when exchanging or returning goods, as well as on goods that are not subject to exchange.

Young consumers were also provided with practical examples explaining how to exercise fundamental consumer rights when making purchases in stores or using various services, including the right to obtain information and the right to make a free choice. Relevant recommendations on protecting these rights were also provided.

During the sessions, students’ questions on the subject were answered and clarification was provided on issues of interest to them.
