The associate membership of the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute in EURAMET will make an important contribution to strengthening Azerbaijan’s integration into the international metrology system and further developing its national measurement standards infrastructure.

The Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMİ), operating under the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been accepted as an Associate Member of the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET).

The decision was adopted at the 20th General Assembly of EURAMET, held in Tbilisi, Georgia.

As an Associate Member, AzMİ will have the opportunity to participate in the activities of EURAMET’s Technical Committees, as well as join the organization’s scientific research and innovation projects.

The membership will also contribute to strengthening AzMİ’s activities within the framework of the International Committee for Weights and Measures Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM MRA), expanding its participation in international comparisons, and increasing the international recognition of its calibration and measurement capabilities (CMCs).

Note: EURAMET is the Regional Metrology Organization for Europe. It coordinates cooperation among national metrology institutes in the region, supports international comparisons and research projects, and facilitates the international recognition of measurement standards and calibration and measurement capabilities.

EURAMET currently has 37 Full Members and more than 80 Associate Members.
