Entrepreneurs were informed about the importance of complying with legislative requirements in the areas of consumer rights protection and advertising, while the State Agency’s relevant supervision mechanisms were also highlighted.
The State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan continues its awareness-raising activities aimed at ensuring the rights and legitimate interests of consumers in accordance with legislative requirements and strengthening mutual trust between consumers and businesses.
As part of these activities, an awareness meeting was held in the city of Shamakhi, organized by the State Agency and its Regional Division No. 4, with the support of the Shamakhi District Executive Authority.
The event was attended by representatives of nearly 200 business entities operating in trade, public catering, household services, and other service sectors. Jafar Babayev, First Deputy Head of the State Agency, and Etibar Muradli, Deputy Head of the Shamakhi District Executive Authority, delivered opening remarks.
The speakers highlighted the activities of the State Agency and its regional structural divisions in promoting business relations based on equal conditions among market participants, protecting consumer rights, and supervising the consumer market. The importance of joint awareness-raising activities was also emphasized.
Following the opening remarks, presentations were delivered by Yusif Tapdigli, Head of the Consumer Market Supervision Department of the State Agency; Elshan Jafarov, Head of the Consumer Rights Protection Department; and Royal Rahimov, Head of the Sector for Supervision of Unfair Competition and Advertising Legislation.
The presentations covered the importance of complying with relevant rules and requirements in trade, public catering, household and other service sectors, consumer rights protection, liability measures provided for by legislation in this area, the State Agency’s areas of supervision in the consumer market, and issues related to the implementation of advertising legislation.
Information was also provided on the State Agency’s extensive awareness-raising activities in the relevant areas, as well as measures being taken to address existing challenges.
As part of the event, entrepreneurs were provided with recommendations on bringing their activities into compliance with applicable regulatory legal acts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and complying with the requirements of advertising legislation.
The meeting concluded with answers to entrepreneurs’ questions and practical explanations based on relevant examples.
