The Azerbaijan Metrology Institute (AzMI), operating under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of metrology with the National Institute of Metrology (NIM) of the People’s Republic of China.

The Memorandum aims to contribute to the development of the national metrology systems of both countries through the exchange of knowledge, expertise and technical resources, expand the application of modern measurement technologies, and ensure compliance with international standards. The document also envisages joint efforts towards the mutual recognition of measurement and calibration certificates, as well as support for scientific research activities.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the parties will exchange scientific and technical information in the field of metrology, implement joint research projects, organize reciprocal visits by experts and specialists, and conduct training programmes and practical seminars.

In addition, the document provides for participation in international interlaboratory comparisons and the preparation of reference materials, as well as joint research in advanced fields such as nanotechnology, quantum metrology, digital metrology, automated measurement systems and smart sensor technologies.

It should be noted that the document provides a solid foundation for long-term and strategic cooperation in the field of metrology.
