Quality Infrastructure

Quality infrastructure is a set of institutions, systems, norms and obligations of a country that ensures compliance of goods circulating in the national market with safety rules and other public interests.

This infrastructure sets out general rules for all stakeholders to insure and protect the health and safety of society and the legal rights of consumers. In a broad sense, the system of quality infrastructure consists of numerous interrelated areas of activity, including the development of technical standards, standardization, conformity assessment, accreditation, legal and scientific metrology, etc. The quality infrastructure in Azerbaijan consists of public legal entities such as, "Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization", "Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology" and "Azerbaijan Accreditation Center", all subordinated to the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy.
